A warning regarding the new attributes feature in civilcad7.
Please refrain from using/utilising the new attribute feature in civilcad7 (eg: raw data saved from Topsurv, or entered manually).
We understand it cannot be utilised much at present anyway, however, the development team will be changing the format of the way the data is handled and stored, and consequently future versions (and previous versions v6.9 etc) WILL NOT be able to access ANY attributes saved in civilcad v7.0. This means all attributes entered into the job WILL BE LOST.
"Attributes" is a new fetaure in civilcad7, and can be found in the button on the top right of the "Edit Point" dialog box.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

Two options available:
1. In Program Settings / Preferences turn on "Display entity detail when cursor flies over". If the cursor is held over the boundary near or on its centroid point, the boundary is highlighted and a tool tip displays the details.
2. Use option Edit / Select by Name. Select the boundary required from the pick list of boundaries in the project. This will display the boundary required.

In Version 5.72 when you selected a boundary file, this outline was highlighted on the screen of the current job or other jobs so that you could see if the boundary included all of your data. If you had several boundaries, you could make sure of the one you were selecting. This is no longer available & was wondering if others are missing this useful tool !!

Has anyone tried to import a ln3 or tn3 file generated by 3D. I have been emailed a couple of these files and tried to import them. The tn3 file will import, but nothing appears in CCad apart from there supposedly being a dtm which does not appear. The ln3 file, which is around 2.5mb, just seems to crash CCad.
Have requested a dwg file from the client to get around the problem at present.
Cheers, Rosco

When plotting codes with a mixuture of alpha and numerics, most times only the alpha part plots; e.g STN42 appears only as STN.

Hi,
Just started running V7. Very happy to see a .dgn export option for all us Microstation users... BUT how do you use it? There is no export dialog box that opens like when exporting .dwg. There is no updated V7 help manual with any info on how the dgn export function works etc. And when i just open the file that i exported as .dgn it has all the layer names etc but no elements?
Any chance of a V7 help manual in the near future?
Please provide some insight.

Hi everyone!
The civilcad v7 BETA (Testing) version is now available on website download area.
Please note this is only available to users with current civilcad maintenance who are using a USB key. A new licence file is required to run civilcad 7 with your USB key. Please make sure to email licence@civilcad.com.au with your civilcad USB key number for a "upgrade code" to update your USB key.
Make sure to install as a NEW installation onto the workstation to avoid overwriting the current civilcad 6 version.
All feedback of any issues encountered for this Beta version should be sent directly to feedback@civilcad.com.au. Thank you!
