5.7 to 6.7
« on: November 19, 2007, 04:33:37 pm »

1. How do I obtain a complete code library from 5.7 to import into 6.7?
I have followed the instructions in the 6.7 manual, but when I write the svycode.out file from 5.7 it includes the codes in that project only.
If I do it from a different job, it includes only codes from that job, etc, etc.

2. When I try to write the symbol/linetype file out of 5.7, I saves it as a symbol.bcd file.
Then when I import these two files and open the job in 6.7 it returns an error tha 6.7 can't locate the symbol.bcd file in c:/ccad/temp directory. But I have looked and the file IS there.

3. Does anyone know what happened about the introductory courses that were supposed to take place in Brisbane in July and August this year?

Hi Hando,

1. You might try adding a new job in v5, then writing the codes .out file to see if all the code library will be listed.

2. When importing symbols and linestyles, you can import directly. There is not need to write the .out file. Importing of v5 library files (direct from your v5 LIB directory, you do not have to copy it anywhere) can be done into the current v6 library. Because of this, you may want to stablish a new (empty) symbol library file.
Go to File-> Program setup-> Libraries, highlight the "Symbol=" line and click Browse. When prompted to open a file, type in a new file name (eg: v5symbol) and click ok. This will have created an empty file which is now your symbol library. Highlight the "Symbol=" line again, and click Edit. You should see that there are no symbols in the list, click Import and navigate to your v5 LIB directory to import the v5 symbol library.
The same can be applied for the linestyles.

3. You can contact ABC LASERS www.abclasers.com.au (Topcon dealer in QLD) to find out more information about training conducted in Brisbane.

Hope that helps.
